I'm a great-grandma. I am so blessed to have lived long enough to see Jodi become a mother. Hope to have many happy times watching Trenton and Lilly grow and learn. They are such a JOY to be around. They live here in Lima, so we love baby-sitting opportunities.

Wanted to add thanks to all of you who took time to fill out your profiles. Many made me laugh out loud. (no, NOT the photos) Good to know that so many have a great sense of humor.

I have Karen and Kay Webb to thank, for urging me to attend the 45th class reunion. I'm really glad I went. What a wonderful group of classmates.

School Story:

I appreciate the decision to include me. I wasn't able to graduate in Lima. I transferred to North Side in Fort Wayne for my senior year. If you remember Linda McClain, she transferred there, also. I was shocked to see her in my government class.

Our basketball team went all the way to State, which was HUGE in Indiana. We lost to Indianapolis Washington. But most of my memories are from Lima, and I couldn't wait to move back.

I'm guessing that anyone who had George Hefner for a teacher, has never forgotten him.

Marital status

Where else have you lived?

Fort Wayne, Indiana
Columbus Grove, Ohio

Do you still see/talk to/hang out with any classmates? Who?

Robin Schlereth
Pam Snyder
Karen and Kay Webb
Cheryl Lauck

What would we be surprised to know about you?

I got married on July 11, 2009. I'm so happy, and I feel young again. God is still working miracles, and I am thankful.

Cancer survivor since 2002, thanks to God and Dr. Sheehan.

As part of a wonderful trip to the Holy Land, I rode a camel to some pyramids in Egypt in 1976. Exploring was nothing like I expected. Thirty-nine people from my church got to know each other very well. Loved the Cairo museum and Petra. The whole experience was exciting, and brought me closer to God.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Church activities.

I love having a "game night" each month with friends. I highly recommend it. We hope it is exercising our brains.

I miss Sharon Gudakunst and her "mini-reunions." I'm glad they are continuing in Lima. You never know who might show up. Spouses welcome. Come join us when you are able. Watch for announcements.

My husband and I volunteer at a local nursing home once a week.

Favorite movies

Gone With the Wind (The book was much better.)
Back to the Future (all of them)
Legends of the Fall
Mystic River (Wow!)
From Noon to Three

Any words of wisdom?

Find a great church and learn all you can, especially about salvation. A church family can also help you through the tough times.

Hurting people are everywhere, so please be kind.

Any vices?

John will be missed.  He was well organized, and a very important member of the reunion committee.  I learned a lot about him from his beautiful obituary.  We are praying for the entire family. May they be comforted by the many great memories that were made in his lifetime.

I remember being impressed after reading Mary's profile.  I knew nothing about the Merchant Marines.  She certainly experienced a lot during her lifetime.  The photos were so interesting.  I had a hard time imagining  Mary in these situations, but the pictures made it very real.  My sympathy to her family and friends.

Thanks for the update, Janis. I appreciate Lori helping you! Hope you both can come to one of the mini-reunions, too.
